India ने global trade war में एक बड़ी जीत हासिल की है। State Bank of India की research report के मुताबिक, United States के साथ नए trade deal के बाद India पर tariff rate घटकर 18% रह गया है, जबकि China पर 37% बना हुआ है। इससे Indian goods American market में ज्यादा competitive होंगे। Textile, leather और footwear sectors को खास फायदा मिलेगा। Deal reciprocal है, जिसमें US कुछ Indian products पर 18% tariff लगाएगा, लेकिन aircraft और auto parts पर duty हटाएगा। बदले में India American industrial और agricultural products पर tariff कम करेगा। साथ ही 5 साल में 500 billion dollar खरीदारी का target भी रखा गया है।
